Welcome to the Blackdown & East Devon Woodland Association The very nature of the area means that there are a great many smaller woodlands, the association aims to help the owners keep in touch with each other with regular events, meetings and social gatherings. Most of the wood coming from these woodlands is used for fire wood with a small amount going to saw mills, the association is actively promoting the area's woodland resources. There is a new project starting in the Blackdown Hills and East Devon Areas its called Beef, Butterflies and Trees, and combines two elements. 1 is aimed at helping land owners make better use of their marginal grazing. 2 is called Woodbiz Woodlands an off shute from the Working our Woodlands but consentrating on creating more woodlands and making greater use of the resources we already have .
